When is Keukenhof open in 2027?

Keukenhof is open from Thursday 18 March until Sunday 9 May 2027. You can visit every day during this period, including Sundays and public holidays. The gardens open at 08:00 and close at 19:00.

The last entrance is at 18:15. This is the final admission time, not a suggested arrival time for a full visit: arriving then leaves only 45 minutes before the park closes. Give yourself more time if you want to explore the gardens, enjoy the flower displays and stop for something to eat.

Keukenhof is a seasonal spring garden. Plan your visit within these dates; the regular flower garden season does not continue throughout the summer.

What is the best time of day to visit?

For a quieter walk, aim to arrive early in the morning or visit later in the afternoon. The park is generally less busy before 10:30 and after 16:00. These are also lovely times for photography, when softer light brings out the colours of the flowers.

Early morning: start from 08:00

An early arrival gives you plenty of time to explore at your own pace. Begin with the garden paths and outdoor displays, then take a break when more visitors arrive. It is a useful option if you want to combine Keukenhof with another activity in the flower region later in the day.

Late afternoon: enjoy a relaxed final few hours

An arrival around 16:00 leaves roughly three hours before closing. Allow time for your walk back to the exit, especially if you have a coach departure or a return day trip to catch. The 19:00 closing time still applies to an afternoon visit.

How much time should you allow?

As a practical planning guide, allow around three to four hours for a comfortable first visit. That gives you time for a walk through the gardens, flower displays, photographs and a short break. If you like to take your time or stop for lunch, set aside a longer part of the day.

Make your plan around what you enjoy. A photographer may want to revisit a favourite garden when the light changes, while a family may prefer shorter walks with more pauses. Your arrival time should leave enough room for that pace before the park closes.

Travel time, parking and the walk to the entrance are additional to your time inside the gardens. If you are driving, read the Keukenhof parking guide before setting off.

How do arrival time slots work?

Choose the date and arrival time shown during booking, and plan to reach the entrance within that time slot. The arrival slot helps organise entry; it does not mean that your garden visit lasts only for that short window.

If you book a tour or day trip package, check the meeting time and departure point on your booking confirmation. A coach departure time is different from a Keukenhof entrance time. Leave enough time to find the meeting point and board before departure.

Remember: the last entrance is at 18:15, but you should follow the arrival time on your ticket. Do not use the last-admission time as a replacement for your booked slot.

Which days are usually quieter?

Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are generally quieter than the busier weekend days. If your travel dates are flexible, a weekday morning can be a good choice for a relaxed visit.

Visitor numbers vary with the weather and holiday periods. There is no guaranteed quiet day, so book your preferred date in advance and leave some flexibility in your travel schedule.

Is Keukenhof open at Easter and on public holidays?

Yes. Keukenhof is open on public holidays that fall within its 2027 season, including Easter. The usual hours of 08:00–19:00 apply.

If you are planning a holiday visit with family or a group, organise the entrance tickets and transport together. Allow extra time for the journey and agree where everyone should meet before returning home.

For the 2027 holiday dates, crowd planning and family tips, read the complete Easter at Keukenhof guide.

Visiting on the first or last day

The first day is 18 March and the final day is 9 May 2027. Both are part of the regular opening season, with the same daily opening hours.

The flowers change as spring progresses. Early and later flowering varieties create different views during the season, and the weather affects the timing. Do not expect every variety to be at its peak on the same date.

Choose the date that fits your journey and the time you want to spend in the gardens. For a final-weekend visit, keep the closing date in mind when arranging hotels, transport and other activities.

Travelling to Keukenhof from Amsterdam, Schiphol or Rotterdam

A day trip or organised tour is a convenient way to combine transport and a visit to Keukenhof. You can book direct Keukenhof options from Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam, with Keukenhof admission included in the tour products shown below.

The Amsterdam option includes a flexible return, so you can choose from the return departures included in your booking. Always check the departure point, timetable and final return service before you travel. Schiphol and Rotterdam visitors should also follow the exact meeting-point and return instructions on their booking confirmation.

If you drive or travel with a private transfer, allow for the journey to Lisse and your arrival at the entrance. Groups arriving by coach can use the free coach parking at P1; the parking page explains the available parking options.
