The most important safety rule
The Flight Experience is not suitable for everyone. Visitors must be at least 4 years old and at least 100 cm tall. Pregnant visitors and people with certain heart or back conditions are not permitted to take the flight. Additional health and safety restrictions apply, so read the full section below before buying a ticket for your group.
What does THIS IS HOLLAND feel like?
The main attraction is a simulated flight over the Netherlands. Your seat moves in front of a large curved screen while effects such as wind, mist and scents make it feel as if you are flying over Dutch landscapes, cities, waterways, windmills and the coast.
The complete visit takes about one hour and includes two introductory shows, the approximately nine-minute Flight Experience and the Holland Lounge.
How old and how tall do you need to be?
4 years old
Children younger than four cannot participate in the Flight Experience.
100 cm
Visitors shorter than 100 cm cannot participate, even when accompanied by an adult.
100–130 cm
Visitors between 100 and 130 cm must be accompanied by an adult who sits next to them during the flight. Children also need appropriate adult supervision.
For ticket categories, THIS IS HOLLAND currently treats ages 4–12 as children and age 13+ as adults. If you are travelling with a child close to the height limit, measure them before booking.
When can you not take the Flight Experience?
The flight uses moving seats, height, motion, sound and other special effects. According to the attraction's current safety information, the Flight Experience is not permitted or is unsuitable in several situations.
Do not book the flight for someone who is:
- younger than 4 years old;
- shorter than 100 cm;
- pregnant;
- affected by relevant heart or back problems;
- affected by epilepsy according to the current official ticket information;
- unable to transfer into the ride seat and remain safely seated, independently or with assistance;
- under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The attraction's terms also mention fear of heights and warn that sudden loud effects are used. If you have a medical condition or are unsure whether the experience is suitable, contact THIS IS HOLLAND before booking.
From 10:00
The Flight Experience normally starts from 10:00. Closing times can vary by day and season, so always check the live opening hours for your chosen date before travelling.
Check-in from 07:45
During the Keukenhof season, THIS IS HOLLAND is used as the Amsterdam meeting point for selected Keukenhof tours, with early access for tour check-in.
Important: early tour check-in does not mean the Flight Experience is operating at 07:45.
Booking THIS IS HOLLAND tickets
Tickets are sold through the official ticket shop. Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly during weekends, school holidays and the busy spring season. Online tickets use a time slot, and the attraction recommends arriving around 10–15 minutes before your selected time.
Buying online in advance can also be cheaper than buying at the desk. The current ticket shop allows tickets to be rescheduled through the booking-management link in the confirmation email.

Combine THIS IS HOLLAND with a 75-minute Amsterdam canal cruise
Fly over the Netherlands, then see Amsterdam from the water
The Hop On Hop Off Holland combination ticket pairs the THIS IS HOLLAND Flight Experience with a 75-minute canal cruise. The major advantage is the location: the cruise departs directly in front of THIS IS HOLLAND, so you do not have to cross the city between the two activities.
Current booking options show multiple start times for THIS IS HOLLAND, including 11:45, 13:15 and 15:15. For example, a visit starting at 11:45 is followed by a 13:15 canal cruise, while a 13:15 start is followed by a 15:00 cruise. Always use the times shown on your booking confirmation.
During the cruise you see Amsterdam from the water, including canal houses, bridges and well-known city sights. Meals, drinks and personal expenses are not included unless specifically stated in your booking.
Where can you park for THIS IS HOLLAND?
A'DAM Parking – Bercylaan 1
THIS IS HOLLAND recommends entering Bercylaan 1, Amsterdam in your navigation system for the car park beneath the A'DAM Tower. From there it is a short walk to Overhoeksplein and the THIS IS HOLLAND entrance.
THIS IS HOLLAND can be reached by car via the IJtunnel and Amsterdam's A10 ring road. Construction work in the area can occasionally affect the most direct driving route, so follow local signs on arrival.
Can you park cheaper outside the centre?
If you are spending a longer day in Amsterdam, a municipal P+R can be cheaper than parking directly beside the attraction. P+R Noord is at Nieuwe Leeuwarderweg 25 and connects to Amsterdam Centraal by metro 52. From Central Station you can take the free F3 ferry to Buiksloterweg and walk to THIS IS HOLLAND.
The City of Amsterdam currently lists P+R parking from €6 per 24 hours when arriving after 10:00 on weekdays or on weekends/public holidays, and €13 for the first 24 hours when arriving before 10:00 Monday–Friday. P+R discounts have specific public-transport check-in and payment conditions, so read the city's rules before relying on the reduced rate.
How to get to THIS IS HOLLAND from Amsterdam Central Station
THIS IS HOLLAND is on the north side of the IJ, opposite Amsterdam Central Station. Go to the IJ side of the station and take the free F3 ferry to Buiksloterweg. After you leave the ferry, turn left. The walk to THIS IS HOLLAND takes around four minutes.
The ferry runs frequently and is free for pedestrians and cyclists. This is usually the easiest option for visitors already staying in central Amsterdam.
Can a coach park at THIS IS HOLLAND?
No, touringcars cannot park directly at THIS IS HOLLAND. A Kiss & Ride drop-off is possible, but the attraction currently directs touringcars to P7 at Mt. Ordinaweg (NDSM) for coach parking.
Group tickets are available for groups of ten or more, and the venue also works with schools and organised groups. If you are arranging a large group, contact the attraction in advance rather than arriving with a coach without a parking plan.
THIS IS HOLLAND is also a departure point for Keukenhof tours
Hop On Hop Off Holland tours offered on this website depart from THIS IS HOLLAND, Overhoeksplein 51. During the Keukenhof season, guests can check in here before travelling by coach to the flower region.
That means you may visit the building early in the morning for a tour departure even though the Flight Experience itself starts later. Always use the check-in time printed on your individual booking confirmation.
